ENGAGEMENT SESSION AT FOLSOM LAKE PARK
I had the opportunity to photograph Matthew & Thao’s engagement photo session a few months before their wedding day. That photo shoot gave me a chance to get to know them and their open and fun personalities.
Their Sacramento engagement photography session was at Folsom Lake State Recreation Area. The park is one of my favorite outdoor locations for photoshoots. Their engagement portrait shoot was filled with lots of laughter and intimate moments. The couple was fully enjoying every moment.
Engagement photo sessions are some of the best opportunities for photographers to get to know their couples. We get to chat with each other and spend time in a relaxed atmosphere.
After getting to know each other better – the bride and groom started to get more comfortable in front of the camera. I became confident that we will capture fantastic wedding photography images during their special day!
WEDDING PREPARATION AT WESTIN SACRAMENTO
The morning preparations for the bride & groom started at the beautiful The Westin Sacramento hotel. The hotel is located on the banks of the beautiful Sacramento River.
This upscale hotel is a gorgeous location for wedding couples’ getting ready time. We were able to get lots of beautiful wedding portraits of the bride and groom and their bridal party.
After Matthew & Thao had their beautiful and emotional first look moment at The Westin Sacramento hotel, we all headed to their venue for the wedding ceremony time. The ride wasn’t long, and soon we arrived at the Grand Island Mansion in Walnut Grove.
Upon arrival at the beautiful and ornate wedding venue, we started capturing a beautifully decorated place. The wedding decor, done by the talented team at CL Decor, was exquisite and beautiful.
From the bride’s bouquet to the smallest table decor pieces – everything highlighted the bride’s tasteful judgment.
WEDDING CEREMONY TIME
All the closest family and friends gathered at the outdoor ceremony site awaiting the bride and groom to arrive. The wedding ceremony was very touching and emotional, which is always great at weddings.

WEDDING RECEPTION AT THE GRAND ISLAND MANSION
Matthew & Thao’s wedding reception took place in the marquee event tent that is one of the unique reception places at the Grand Island Mansion. This venue exclusively complemented the couple’s wedding style.
This historic mansion has no shortage of amazing locations on the estate to host your event and capture unforgettable pictures. The Sergey Bidun Photography team worked diligently to capture all of the special moments of the day.
After a short indoor cocktail hour for the guests, and some romantic portraits for the newlyweds, we all moved on to the tented reception site.
